Target Builds Digital Team with External Hires
Changes are plentiful at Target Corporation these days. Earlier this year, CEO Greg Steinhafel resigned in the wake of the infamous data breach. Now, three external hires are being brought aboard with high-level responsibility for information technology, digital products, and e-commerce.
According to a Target company press release:
- Jim Fisher has been hired as Senior VP, Infrastructure and Operations, Target Technology Services, where he will oversee Target’s technical infrastructure and operations. Jim’s 35-year career has included roles at organizations including The Home Depot, Macy’s and IBM. Immediately before Target, Jim was Senior VP of Global Infrastructure Operations at First Data Corporation. He was responsible for security engineering and operations, database and data administration, asset management and IT facilities.
- Alan Wizemann has been hired as VP, Target.com and Mobile Product, where he will oversee digital product teams. For the past two years, Alan had been consulting with Target and leading various product teams, including Target’s mobile coupon app Cartwheel. Prior to Target, Alan founded ShopIgniter, a popular enterprise social commerce and marketing platform, and also worked with several other startups.
- David Weissman joins Target as President of DermStore which Target acquired last year. David was previously at BCBG Max Azria Group Inc., where he was Executive vice VP, e-commerce and omnichannel. David also held several senior-level positions during his 10-year tenure at GSI Commerce Inc.
Announced in May, Target also formed a Digital Advisory Council to assist in transforming the company’s omnichannel strategies moving forward. The council of former executives from companies including Google and Orbitz Worldwide meet quarterly as a group with Casey Carol, President of Omnichannel at Target. Council members will serve two-year terms with an option third year while providing guidance on various tech topics and help connect Target with other leaders in the industry.
