Stacy and Kevin Brown started the fast-casual Chicken Salad Chick concept in 2008 after Stacy’s popular door-to-door chicken salad business became too popular – local officials notified her that producing food for sale in a home kitchen was prohibited. The Browns began franchising in 2013, and Simply Southern Restaurant Group hit its stride in 2016. With approximately 150 locations under contract and locations in eight states, the company is now in the execution phase of its growth plan. We can expect 30 to 40 new franchised store openings per year in the near term along with expansion into Kentucky, Virginia and Mississippi.
